General Terms and Conditions
Scope of application
Unless otherwise agreed in an individual case, these General Terms and Conditions apply to all our offers and services provided. The price lists shown on our website and in any other documents published by us are applicable together with the related terms mentioned therein. Updated price lists shall replace preceding price lists. When booking is made via a central accommodation service such as, for example, hostelworld, hostelbookers or others, their respective terms and conditions with regard to booking and cancellation shall apply alongside with our House Rules and our Terms and Conditions with regard to liability, protection of minors and data protection.
Booking and cancellation
Booking shall be made online or in writing (letter/email). If canceled up to 7 days before arrival, no fee will be charged. If applicable, prepayments will be refunded. If the guest is not able to make use of the booking of its rented rooms for reasons Arena Hostel Hamburg is not responsible for, the price agreed upon will apply minus saved expenses. For internal relevant reasons, the Arena Hostel Hamburg can cancel the booking at any time without compensation claims.
Down payment
Arena Hostel Hamburg charges a down payment of 25% on the price of the total stay. This down payment shall be made into the bank account of Arena Hostel Hamburg within 10 days after the booking date, but no later than 30 days prior to arrival of the guest. (Bankdetail: IBAN DE93 2007 0024 0375 4504 01 – BIC DEUTDEDBHAM) Exceptions of this payment period in case of a short-term booking must be confirmed in writing by Arena Hostel Hamburg. In case of big events, fairs or exhibitions and school holidays in Hamburg the full amount of the booking price is to be settled as a down payment no later than 30 days prior to arrival which shall be indicated by Arena Hostel Hamburg in the related booking confirmation. If the down payment has not been made within the period previously mentioned, Arena Hostel Hamburg is not obliged to provide the rooms that the guest has booked. In this case Arena Hostel Hamburg shall be entitled to rent the rooms to other guests.
Liability
Arena Hostel Hamburg cannot be held liable for damages to property unless the damages were caused deliberately or through gross negligence on the part of Arena Hostel Hamburg or its agents or servants. Its liability shall then always be in accordance with the legal regulations. The above-mentioned provisions shall not constitute a change of the burden of proof. Arena Hostel Hamburg reserves the right to put technical facilities out of service without giving its guests the right of refund for performances already booked, as long as Arena Hostel Hamburg carries on with its general business operations. The guest and its accompanying persons as well as the buyer of the services rendered are liable for damages caused to the building and its inventory as well as for any kind of loss, especially of keys. Theft and intentional damage to property will be brought to court without delay. The House Rules are part of the General Terms and Conditions. In case of a breach of the House Rules, Arena Hostel Hamburg has the right to terminate the contract for accommodation without notice. Services which may not have been claimed until then will not be reimbursed. Check-in between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. After 7 p.m. only self check-in.Other times of arrival according to prior agreement. Check-out until 11 a.m.
Protection of Minors
Young persons under 18 must be accompanied by one responsible person of age in order to be accommodated at Arena Hostel Hamburg. The accompanying persons must stay overnight at the hostel.
Data Protection
The guest and the buyer of the services agree to the collection and storage of the contractual and billing data for internal reasons. These personal data are not distributed to unauthorized third parties.
